Neal R. Gross and Co. is a leading Court Reporting and Transcription services company based in the Washington, DC area, serving clients across the country. Our diverse client base includes local, state, and federal courts, the House of Representatives, the Department of Defense, and private sector organizations. We are seeking experienced Court Reporters to join our network on a contract basis, working directly at client sites within their local areas.
You will serve as the official recorder of proceedings, utilizing specialized equipment to create accurate, verbatim records in various settings such as legal courts, non-profit board rooms, and depositions. This role offers significant flexibility, allowing candidates to tailor their workload from a few jobs a month to 2-3 per week. As a representative of Neal R. Gross & Co., you will interact with high-level clients from government and private industry, requiring a professional demeanor and strong problem-solving skills.
Your day involves traveling to client sites to set up and operate recording equipment, ensuring all hardware is properly configured before proceedings begin. You will administer oaths, capture live testimony or meetings using Machine Shorthand, Voice, or Digital capture, and manage the secure handling of exhibits and file backups. The role demands independence and precision, as you will be responsible for completing job worksheets, maintaining logs, and responding promptly to communications while adhering to strict deadlines.
