Role Summary
The Counter Sales Associate reports directly to the Branch Manager. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, vendors, and the general public, delivering premier front-line service. The associate is responsible for managing sales transactions, maintaining product knowledge, and fostering strong customer relationships to drive branch sales and expand the customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Engagement: Greet customers and the public, answer inquiries, provide product information, and offer assistance to ensure a positive experience.
- Sales & Order Processing: Initiate customer sales orders, process warranties and credit returns, and follow up on billing issues, payments, and credit information.
- Product Expertise: Determine customer product needs, suggest alternatives or additional items, and select appropriate stock. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HVAC products and industry standards through training workshops.
- Database Management: Accurately and timely maintain, manage, and update all customer-related database systems.
- Store Presentation: Keep counter displays orderly and attractive to enhance the shopping experience.
- Problem Resolution: Assist in resolving customer complaints and recommend changes to improve customer experience.
- Sales Growth: Develop and expand the customer base through quality service and facilitate promotional activities to boost branch sales.
- Compliance: Ensure all company standards are maintained and complete special projects as assigned by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical Knowledge: Product and application knowledge of HVAC products is required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise information and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Computer Proficiency: Good computer skills are necessary for database and order management.
- Professionalism: Maintain a positive and professional demeanor as a trusted representative of AC Pro.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan time and work effort effectively while paying attention to detail.
- Problem Solving: Analytical skills to identify critical situations and use good judgment for timely responses.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods (8+ hours daily).
- Must be able to consistently lift up to 50 lbs; assistance is required for heavier items.
- Full use of both arms and hands for reaching, feeling, grasping, gripping, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to work in various warehouse conditions, including exposure to cold, heat, wind, dust, wet environments, and noise.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and physical screening.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: Starting at $24.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Schedule: Morning shift.
