About the Role
We are recruiting a Controller for a growing firm in the Raleigh area. This is a new role created to support the company's expansion, tasked with building and scaling the accounting infrastructure, implementing financial processes, and establishing robust controls.
The Controller will serve as a key leader within the accounting function, partnering directly with senior finance leadership to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. You will be instrumental in managing the full close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple entities, while serving as the primary liaison for external audits and regulatory examinations. The role requires a balance of strategic vision and tactical execution, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate accounting workflows while diving into complex technical accounting topics to communicate clear conclusions to leadership.

Requirements
- verified8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- verifiedCPA preferred
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- verifiedStrong background in regulatory-based reporting within financial services or asset-backed environment
- verifiedSolid understanding of U.S. GAAP
- verifiedExperience with complex entity structures and consolidations
Nice to Have
CPA certification. Experience with transformation initiatives, process automation, or system implementations.
