The Content Editor role is designed to be the final stamp of approval on all assigned client copy, ensuring it aligns with strategy, brand voice, and quality standards. This position exists to bridge the gap between creative writing and strategic execution, collaborating closely with Content Marketing Specialists, Digital PR Managers, Data Journalists, and designers. You will not only edit and proofread but also provide strategic coaching to writers, manage AI editing tools like Grammarly, and ensure all content meets rigorous SEO and PR standards.
In this fully remote environment, you will navigate a dynamic day-to-day workflow that includes reviewing long-form guides, thought leadership pieces, and Digital PR assets like press pitches and data studies. Success in this role requires balancing multiple client deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards and utilizing project management systems. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleConduct quality assurance checks on content structure, flow, and strategic effectiveness
- check_circleEnsure copy meets on-page SEO best practices including keyword integration and meta elements
- check_circleProvide constructive feedback and strategic coaching to writers rather than direct edits
- check_circleEdit and review Digital PR campaign assets including press pitches and data studies
- check_circleManage multiple project deadlines while maintaining utilization and quality expectations
- check_circleCollaborate with managers and designers to address strategic gaps and structural improvements
- check_circleSupport Learning & Development initiatives with an emphasis on AI enhancements
- check_circleManage and improve the Grammarly AI editing tool to enforce client style guides
- check_circleReview copy to ensure alignment with client strategy, brand voice, and content goals
- check_circleReview design direction to ensure visuals complement and elevate written content
- check_circleFact-check all names, statistics, claims, dates, and references for accuracy

Requirements
- verified3–5 years of experience in content editing, digital publishing, journalism, content marketing, or public relations
- verified3-5 years in an agency environment
- verifiedStrong command of AP style
- verifiedExperience editing and optimizing digital content
- verifiedStrong understanding of SEO fundamentals
- verifiedExperience editing or reviewing PR-focused content
- verifiedExperience working in Google Workspace and project management systems
Nice to Have
4-year degree in English, journalism or a related field. Experience working within SEO tools and content optimization platforms. Familiarity with Digital PR campaigns and media outreach best practices. Experience editing data journalism content, including an understanding of how to translate statistics into a story. Familiarity with content performance metrics and strategic editorial recommendations. Experience collaborating with design teams and providing guidance on UX and content presentation best practices. Background editing content within health, legal, finance, SaaS, technology, or consumer industries.
