About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Materials Laboratory Technician to join our team of construction professionals. In this laboratory-focused role, you will be assigned to one or more Materials Testing Laboratories, where accuracy, consistency, and adherence to safety protocols are paramount. You will be responsible for sampling and testing construction materials—including aggregates, concrete, soils, and asphalt—to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
The position offers a fast-paced environment with deadlines tied to construction schedules. While the core of the work is in the lab, the role may occasionally require field sample pickup or delivery. Technicians are exposed to dust, noise, chemicals, and varying material types, with appropriate PPE provided. This role provides a unique opportunity to advance your skillset through on-the-job training and attendance at certification classes.

Goins Sweitzer Engineers and Consultants, PLLC is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements: High school diploma or equivalent AND 2 years of construction materials testing related experience; Prior CMT or Construction Inspection Experience with active materials testing certification for both field and laboratory testing; Valid driver's license and favorable driving record; Ability to work in the United States; Associate Degree in Engineering or a related field (Preferred); and ACI, ICC, or NCDOT Certifications (Preferred).
