The Department of Mental Health assures and provides access to services and support to meet the mental health needs of individuals of all ages, enabling them to live, work, and participate in their communities. The Department establishes standards to ensure effective and culturally competent care to promote recovery, sets policy, promotes self-determination, protects human rights, and supports mental health training and research.
This role serves as a key partner to the Director of Safety and Security, overseeing the Metro Boston Security Team Specialist Department, Transportation services, and Materials Management. The position is vital for maintaining a safe, respectful, and healthy environment for both staff and the people served in state-operated and vendor-run programming.
You will provide direct supervision to Security Team Specialist supervisors, the Inventory Control Coordinator, and Chauffeurs. Your day will involve coordinating activities across security, transportation, and materials management while enforcing safety regulations, access control, and parking protocols. You will collect and analyze data related to safety and incident reporting, providing critical insights to Area Leadership.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to emergency preparedness, including maintaining emergency management plans, conducting disaster and fire drills, and ensuring proper documentation is on file. You will also manage the oversight of safety policies, alarm systems, key control, and compliance with ADA regulations. Additionally, you will play a leading role in promoting the Department's commitment to Race, Equity, and Inclusion.
