BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center dedicated to providing and coordinating behavioral health services for over 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children across St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron, and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), we serve as a major point of entry for individuals eligible for mental health services and act as the gatekeeper to the public mental health system.
The Community Outreach Case Worker is a vital link between our clients and the resources they need to thrive. In this full-time, day-shift role, you will spend your days in the community, connecting clients to essential support such as housing and food assistance. You will work with individuals facing severe mental health challenges, carrying a variable caseload and engaging in face-to-face meetings, including home visits.
This position is unique in its direct, on-the-ground nature. You will transport clients in your personal vehicle to facilitate their recovery and resiliency. While the role involves working with complex cases and crisis situations, we provide in-depth training during your first 90 days to ensure you are equipped with the necessary technology proficiency and clinical understanding. We are looking for someone who can work in a constant state of alertness to ensure safety for both yourself and the clients you serve.
We are excited to offer a sign-on bonus of up to $1,500 for this position. Candidates must have a valid Class D (IL) or Class E (MO) driver's license, which must be obtained two weeks prior to starting. Local travel is a core component of the job, and a personal, reliable vehicle with valid insurance is required; mileage reimbursement is available.
BJC Behavioral Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where all employees can contribute to our mission of supporting mental health recovery.
