Estes Express Lines has long recognized the importance of our behind-the-wheel professionals. Founded in 1931 as a one-man-one-truck operation during the Great Depression, we have grown into the largest privately held less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier in North America. Today, our network spans over 200 terminals across all 50 states, the Caribbean, Canada, and Mexico, supported by a fleet of nearly 7,100 tractors and a workforce of more than 16,000 professionals.
Our mission is to deliver solutions that exceed our customers' highest expectations. To achieve this, we are committed to hiring and retaining the best talent, ranging from mechanics and office personnel to our essential drivers and dockworkers.
This position is vital to our operations, requiring you to safely operate tractor-trailers across diverse terrains and environmental conditions. You will be responsible for transporting freight in strict accordance with Company, Federal, State, and Local laws, including FMCSA regulations regarding run times and hazardous materials.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, verifying unit numbers against paperwork, and utilizing in-cab technology such as electronic logs. While the primary focus is on driving, you will also assist with local pick-up and delivery routes, hub runs, and dock work, including loading and unloading freight as business needs dictate. You will provide professional and courteous service to customers and the general public, ensuring the security of both equipment and cargo at all times.
As an Estes employee, you join a company with over 85 years of stability. We offer family-friendly schedules, competitive pay and incentives, and comprehensive benefits. Our team enjoys access to new model trucks equipped with the latest safety technology and ongoing training opportunities for career growth.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and meet all FMCSA requirements, including passing a medical exam, a road test, and a pre-employment drug screen. Successful applicants will also undergo a criminal history background check and must provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
