Job Description
About the Role
As a Clerk-Data Entry at Marriott International, you will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and accessibility of critical information. This non-management, full-time position is based at the CEC Omaha location but offers a remote work model, allowing you to perform your duties from home while supporting the broader team.
Day in the Life
Your primary focus will be entering and locating work-related information using computers and/or point-of-sale systems. You will transmit information and documentation electronically, ensuring that all data is accurate and complete. A significant part of your day will involve reading and visually verifying information in various formats, including small print, to ensure precision.
You will interact with computer databases to update files, records, reservations, and respond to guest inquiries using a keyboard, mouse, or trackball. Accuracy is paramount; you will verify information on documents, screens, printed forms, and lists to guarantee completeness. Additionally, you will operate standard office equipment such as phones, fax machines, photocopiers, and calculators.
Professional Standards and Conduct
Marriott International expects all employees to uphold the highest standards of professionalism. You will be required to comply with all company policies and procedures, maintaining a neat and professional appearance and uniform. Confidentiality is strictly enforced; you must protect proprietary information and company assets at all times.
Communication is key in this role. You will interact with colleagues and guests using clear, professional language, answering phones according to established protocols, and preparing written documents with exactness. Building positive working relationships is essential, as you will support the team in achieving common goals and respond appropriately to colleagues' concerns.
Quality and Safety
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality expectations and standards. This includes identifying opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings. You must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions to your manager immediately. Participation in safety training and obtaining necessary certifications is also required.
Physical Requirements
While this is a remote position, certain physical requirements apply. You may need to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods during the workday. Additionally, you must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance.
Equal Opportunity Employer
Marriott International is an equal opportunity employer. We believe in the importance of hiring a diverse workforce and supporting an inclusive culture that puts people first. We are committed to respecting the principle of non-discrimination on any protected basis, including disability, veteran status, or any other situation protected by applicable laws.
