About the Role

We are seeking experienced CDL-A Owner Operator Drivers across the United States to join our network as independent contractors. This role is ideal for business-minded drivers seeking higher earnings potential and the flexibility of running their own operation. As a partner with UACL, you will have access to a robust agent base of 300+ freight agents nationwide, ensuring consistent freight opportunities tailored to your preferences, whether regional, OTR, or dedicated.

In this position, you will leverage our advanced technology tools for load management and documentation while maintaining regular communication with our agents for dispatch needs and scheduling. The role emphasizes operational efficiency, requiring you to plan routes that minimize empty miles and maximize fuel efficiency while adhering to all DOT regulations and safety protocols. You will represent UACL with professionalism at pickup and delivery locations, building strong working relationships with customers, agents, and our 24/7 operations and road service teams.

Compensation & Benefits

Our contract structure is designed to maximize your profitability. In the Van Division, drivers renting a van trailer from UACL receive 67% of linehaul pay (with an 8% trailer rental fee), with the option to switch to a weekly flat trailer rental rate to increase earnings to 75% of linehaul. Flatbed Division drivers receive 75% of linehaul, with a weekly flat rate trailer rental available for those without their own flatbed. Actual pay-per-mile and weekly gross earnings vary based on customers, freight lanes, and driver preference.

UACL offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus paid directly to the truck. Additional perks include the U-Save Driver Discount Program, hotel savings, cell phone plan discounts, fuel, maintenance, and retail perks, competitive insurance programs, and an available plates program. We provide online orientation for fast onboarding and comprehensive support to help you succeed.

Hiring Process

To join our team, qualified candidates must possess a valid CDL-A and own or lease a truck suitable for over-the-road operation. Applicants must meet all DOT and FMCSA qualifications and demonstrate a strong safety record. Once selected, you will complete our online orientation to begin your journey with UACL Logistics.
