About the Role
As a Claims Examiner at Sedgwick, you’ll have the opportunity to take on new challenges and help solve complex problems. This is a remote, work-at-home, telecommuter position, offering flexibility and autonomy in your daily work and your career path. You will be part of a rapidly growing, industry-leading global company known for its excellence and customer service.
In this role, you will analyze complex or technically difficult general liability claims to determine benefits due. You will work with high exposure claims involving litigation and rehabilitation, ensuring ongoing adjudication of claims within service expectations, industry best practices, and specific client service requirements. Additionally, you will identify subrogation of claims and negotiate settlements.
We are looking for someone with expertise in Bodily Injury General Liability Claims, specifically within commercial (captive) insurance programs. If you are skilled in coverage determination, handling litigated claims, and interpreting endorsements, nature of loss, and excluded coverages, we invite you to join one of the premier teams in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAnalyze complex general liability claims to determine exposure and benefits due
- check_circleAssess liability and negotiate settlements within designated authority
- check_circleCoordinate vendor referrals for investigation and litigation management
- check_circleManage claim recoveries including subrogation and offsets
- check_circleManage the litigation process for timely and cost-effective resolution
- check_circleCalculate and assign appropriate reserves throughout the claim lifecycle
- check_circleCommunicate claim activity with claimants and maintain client relationships
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- verifiedProfessional certification as applicable to line of business preferred
- verifiedFive (5) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- verifiedSubject matter expert of appropriate insurance principles and laws for line-of-business handled
- verifiedPC literate, including Microsoft Office products
