The Central Civil Works Department is growing quickly, bringing together project managers, civil engineers, H&H engineers, geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, and environmental and planning specialists. We work on projects and with teams across the nation and the world to provide integrated, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for flood risk management systems, locks and dams, floodwalls, navigation floodgates, stormwater pumping stations, outfalls, spillways, and ecosystem restoration.
Our clients include private, local, national, and global organizations, including water utilities and drainage authorities throughout the United States. This position focuses primarily on federal projects for clients such as the USACE, USIBWC, FEMA, and NRCS.
As a General Civil Engineer, you will enjoy the design of new and rehabilitated flood risk management systems. You will develop quantities, plans, specifications, cost estimates, construction schedules, and technical reports, utilizing standard techniques while gaining an understanding of advanced methods of construction and innovative solutions from planning through construction.
This is a hybrid position designed for growth. You will receive opportunities to increase your technical and leadership skills, potentially growing into a discipline lead or project manager for complex projects. You will collaborate with multiple disciplines on small to mega projects to determine the best civil design and oversee quality control measures to ensure timely and accurate results.
Your day-to-day work includes performing peer reviews, conducting site visits at active construction sites to examine field conditions and as-built status, and assisting with proposals, presentations, and design charrettes. You will also be mentored by expert construction cost estimators and schedulers to learn software like MII/MCACES and Primavera, performing tasks such as quantity takeoffs, pricing labor and equipment, and developing indirect cost models.
At AECOM, you can build this position into anything you want, whether that is technical leadership, people management, project management, or business development. These roles are equally important and equally valued.
AECOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
