This entry-level driver training role is designed for individuals ready to learn and gain experience driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks. You will operate on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver and unload various food and food-related products. This position is critical to supporting America's food distribution system, offering significant growth opportunities while performing essential work.
As a Driver Trainee, you will ride with and assist a driver trainer, following all instructions to execute deliveries safely. You will interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring all services are executed according to preferred work methods and customer service practices. The role involves completing all required safety checks, inspecting vehicles and trailers, managing freight documentation, and handling the physical demands of unloading and securing products.
This position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule with rotational Saturdays. The dispatch window runs between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
Candidates must successfully complete the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program. The selection process includes a post-offer drug test and a road test to ensure readiness for the role.

6 months of commercial driving experience within the foodservice industry, foodservice distribution industry experience, experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet), and experience with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD).
