As a Class A truck driver, you will be the vital link in delivering MSI's merchandise to various locations. This role focuses on ensuring the safe and timely delivery of countertop and flooring materials to customers while adhering to all transportation regulatory compliance. You will manage local routes featuring multiple stops daily, with the flexibility to embark on 2-day runs when required. A key aspect of this position is the schedule structure, designed to ensure you are home every weekend.
In this position, you will work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service. You will be responsible for the efficient loading, unloading, and securing of cargo, utilizing blocks, ties, straps, chains, and binders to ensure freight integrity. Success in this role requires a constant state of alertness, a polite demeanor towards fellow road users, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions. You will interpret bill of lading and picking sheets, maintain accurate logbooks, and communicate effectively to uphold a commitment to quality service.
Candidates must successfully complete a driving test and all Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment requirements. The process includes verifying at least one year of verifiable driving experience with heavy-duty vehicles and ensuring the ability to haul freight both intrastate and interstate.
