The Role and Your Day-to-Day
As a Trainee, you will be an integral part of our delivery operations. Your day will involve learning and adhering to all DOT, company, and safety regulations. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with the loading, unloading, and securing of product at customer locations. Safety is paramount; you will complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report any equipment issues immediately, and maintain a clean, safe vehicle that represents the McLane brand positively on the road.
You will also become proficient in using Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and managing required delivery documentation. Beyond the technical aspects, you will provide courteous service to all route customers and participate fully in McLane's comprehensive driver training, mentoring, and safety programs.
Hiring Process
To join our team, candidates must possess a valid CDL-A permit or license (state-issued), a clean driving record (MVR), and a DOT medical card. All applicants must successfully pass a DOT drug screen and background check. While completion of a transportation or driver training program is preferred, we are committed to training dedicated individuals who meet the core safety and licensing requirements.
