About the Role
Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers!
This is an Extraboard Position. You will be required to travel to cover PTO and call offs. Mileage, Per Diem, and Hotels covered by company.
About the Company
Performance Foodservice, PFG’s broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants, and other experts builds close relationships with customers — providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleUnload products from trailer and transport to designated customer storage areas
- check_circleDrive tractor trailer or straight truck to deliver food products safely and on time
- check_circleMaintain clean and secure tractor, trailer, and loading dock, and freight areas
- check_circleVerify delivery items with customers and obtain proper signatures
- check_circleComplete required paperwork and daily hours of service logs accurately
- check_circleCollect payments and load customer returns onto trailer
- check_circlePerform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of vehicle and trailer
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School Diploma/GED
- verified6+ months commercial driving experience
- verifiedValid CDL-A
- verifiedMust be 21+ years of age
- verifiedClean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
- verifiedPass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- verifiedPass road test
- verifiedValid current DOT Health Card
