About the Role
As a Camp Counselor, you will be the heart of your group, serving as a Group Leader who brings enthusiasm in both deed and spirit. This role is designed for individuals who possess a genuine passion for working with children and are eager to create memorable experiences. You will be responsible for leading a group of children through a variety of activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Your day will involve planning, leading, and participating in diverse camp activities, including games, songs, sports, skits, and special events. You will follow structured lesson plans provided by the Camp Coordinator, Camp Director, or School Principal to ensure a cohesive program. A significant portion of your time will be spent supervising children during swim activities, which includes swimming alongside them to keep them safe and engaged. Beyond the pool, you will actively engage with children during lunch periods and work to develop opportunities for positive interaction between campers and staff. You will also maintain a physical environment that is safe, attractive, and clean, both indoors and outdoors.
Schedule
This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Hiring Process
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or GED (college coursework preferred). Candidates must have prior experience working with children from Pre-K through 8th grade. To be considered, you must possess or be able to obtain certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Advanced Lifesaving. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
