About the Role
As a Behavioral Health Counselor, you will join a mission-driven team delivering compassionate care to the Newburgh community. In this role, you will make a direct impact by supporting patients and families through life's challenges, collaborating with providers across the organization, and helping improve access to behavioral health care. You will work within an environment that values whole-person health and integrated care, partnering with patients, families, and specialized treatment programs to build effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide diagnostic evaluations and psycho-social assessments for patients with mental health or substance use challenges
- check_circleDeliver individual and group psychotherapy for a diverse caseload including patients with HIV/AIDS and chemical dependency
- check_circleCollaborate with patients, families, and specialized treatment programs to build treatment plans and monitor progress
- check_circleMaintain timely and accurate documentation in patient charts
- check_circleProvide in-service training to medical staff on mental health and substance use topics
- check_circleRotate in a virtual on-call schedule with other counselors
- check_circleServe as a mandated reporter in suspected child abuse cases
- check_circleParticipate in staff and committee meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- verifiedMaster's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Nursing
- verifiedActive NYS license: LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC
- verifiedMinimum 3 years post-graduate experience preferred
- verifiedExperience with children and adolescents strongly preferred
