Metriport is an open-source data intelligence platform enabling healthcare organizations to access and exchange patient data in real-time. We integrate with all major US healthcare IT systems, tapping into comprehensive medical data for over 300 million individuals. Having achieved product-market fit with multi-million ARR and 100+ customers—including Amazon, Color, and Strive Health—we are backed by top VCs and ready to scale.
We are a tight-knit, high-performing team of mostly former founders, including two YC alumni. Our culture is engineering-heavy, operating with minimal bureaucracy and high autonomy. We hire based on competence rather than prestige. While founders work six days a week from our San Francisco office, we give everyone the freedom to craft their schedule. We measure output and are committed to sustainable intensity.
As an Automations Engineer, you will own the internal tooling that keeps Metriport moving fast. Your first instinct when you see a manual process will be to ask, "How do I make this run by itself?" You will spot friction, build the fix, and ship it without waiting to be asked.
This role is for the entrepreneurial-minded hacker who gets excited about wiring together services that weren't built to talk to each other. You will work directly with stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, and business teams to translate their needs into secure, scalable solutions. You care about outcomes over elegance—a practical tool that saves the Ops team an hour a day is worth more than a perfect abstraction nobody uses.
Because we handle sensitive healthcare data, security is top of mind. You will vet third-party integrations, apply least-privilege thinking, and never cut corners that could expose PHI. You will also navigate the AI tooling space with judgment, knowing what is appropriate for an enterprise context and what is a hard no.
This is an on-site role based in San Francisco, CA. We are looking for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area or those willing to relocate. We operate with a flexible schedule but maintain a daily 30-minute remote standup at 7:30 AM PST Monday through Friday as our only regular mandatory meeting.
Metriport provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and abilities.
