The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking an Audiologist 1 to join our team. This role is integral to our mission of delivering comprehensive care, offering flexibility to cover various audiology specialties and ensuring continuity of service in the absence of colleagues.
The Audiologist 1 will work full-time on-site in Miami, FL, administering and interpreting a variety of tests to determine the type, degree, and site of hearing impairment, as well as its effects on comprehension and speech. You will evaluate test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and healthcare professionals.
This position involves a diverse clinical scope, including immittance and emissions testing, auditory evoked potential assessments, and behavioral observation audiometry. You will dispense and fit assistive listening devices, counsel patients and families on hearing technologies, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychology, education, speech pathology, and neurotology. The role requires travel to satellite clinics and affiliate hospitals on the Miami campus, with a specific focus on neurodiagnostics, pediatrics (including Auditory Brainstem Response testing), and hearing aids/bone conduction devices.
