This position serves as a pivotal leadership role within the Acute Care Hospital Tower, dedicated to ensuring high-quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes. The primary purpose of the role is to assist in the daily management of unit activities, bridging the gap between clinical practice and operational efficiency. You will act as a clinical resource and role model, supervising and developing nursing staff while coordinating patient services to maintain the highest standards of care.
Your day will involve a dynamic blend of direct patient care, staff supervision, and strategic planning. You will be responsible for developing staff schedules to maximize team capabilities, directly supervising time and attendance, and evaluating staff performance. Beyond management, you will provide direct patient care, assessing needs and planning discharges, while serving as an educational resource for the team.
You will also play a key role in facility management, ensuring environmental safety and the proper functioning of equipment. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to analyzing work processes to improve productivity, tracking quality management practices, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, physicians, and administration to refine unit policies and procedures. Additionally, you will assist in the development and administration of the unit's annual operating and capital budgets.
This is a full-time position based in the Acute Care Hospital Tower. The schedule consists of two 12-hour shifts for staffing duties and two 8-hour shifts for office-based management tasks.
