NYBC serves as a vital community lifeline dedicated to helping patients and advancing global public health.
This position is integral to the daily operations of the vivarium, ensuring the humane, safe, and sanitary care of laboratory animals. You will serve as a key liaison between scientists, veterinarians, and the Head of LARS, communicating daily care needs and monitoring animal health. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve administering treatments, documenting health assessments, and participating in quarterly sentinel health screenings.
You will work in a dynamic environment that requires alternating holiday and weekend coverage. The role demands active participation in training initiatives to maintain expertise in laboratory animal science, as well as the ability to adapt to various departmental needs. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to critical research efforts while upholding the highest standards of animal welfare and biosafety.
Applicants for this position located in New York City or Westchester County will be considered for a rate of $24.9368 per hour. For positions outside these areas, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience. Unless otherwise specified, all posted opportunities are located in the New York or Greater Tri-State office locations.
