About the Role
The Alumni Relations Operations & Data Analyst serves as the critical technical bridge between Reed Smith's Alumni Relations function and the firm's broader data ecosystem. This role exists to ensure that alumni data is not only accurate and consistent across multiple systems but also actionable for driving engagement, retention, and business development initiatives.
In this position, you will act as the primary liaison for the firm's external website vendor, managing the health of data feeds, resolving technical errors, and driving enhancements to the alumni platform. Your day-to-day involves monitoring user experiences, optimizing data capture through light HTML/CSS, and translating complex data trends into clear narratives for leadership. You will work closely with Alumni Relations and firmwide teams to align data definitions, ensuring that insights regarding alumni engagement, employment, and education are reliable and timely.
This role is ideal for a self-directed analyst who thrives in a hybrid environment, capable of independently troubleshooting technical issues while collaborating effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders to support the firm's mission of fostering lasting alumni connections.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleServe as primary technical liaison for the external website vendor to track sync health and resolve data errors
- check_circleMaintain, cleanse, and enrich alumni data across multiple systems to ensure accuracy and consistency
- check_circleDevelop and maintain dashboards and standard reports tracking alumni engagement and key metrics
- check_circleConduct targeted research using internal and external sources to validate and update alumni records
- check_circleCoordinate alumni connections and membership within the LinkedIn alumni group and external website
- check_circleAnalyze trends related to alumni milestones and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations
- check_circleGenerate targeted invitation and outreach lists based on defined criteria and segmentation logic
- check_circlePrepare clear, concise outputs including charts and infographics for program and leadership teams
- check_circleUtilize platform configuration and HTML/CSS to implement customizations and optimize data capture
- check_circleMonitor and validate data feeds from the firm's website to the alumni website to ensure timely updates
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Computer Science, or related field
- verifiedMinimum of five (5) years of experience in data analysis, reporting or related analytical roles
- verifiedPrior experience working with CRM platforms or other database collection systems
- verifiedExperience with Salesforce preferred
- verifiedExperience utilizing social media platforms as data sources and research tools
- verifiedAdvanced Excel capabilities (e.g. PowerQuery) preferred
