Air and Marine Operations (AMO), a component of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), brings together an elite team of highly trained professionals. Camaraderie, pride, and purpose are the hallmarks of their daily mission to protect America. This group offers skilled pilots an opportunity to transition into law enforcement, working within a culture defined by a shared commitment to national security.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a critical asset in aviation-based law enforcement operations. Your mission is to detect, prevent, and apprehend terrorists, weapons, and contraband attempting to illegally enter or attack the United States. This role is designed for those seeking an exciting and rewarding career that combines exceptional federal benefits with the stability of a government position.
Day-to-day, you will conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled goods moving via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. You will monitor the behavior patterns of suspect persons and assets, collect and analyze strategic intelligence, and support search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. The role demands rapid decision-making and the ability to coordinate aircraft and ground assets in complex environments.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for full-time security-based opportunities. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: It is highly recommended to opt into CBP's talent repository by selecting the "Contact a Recruiter" button. Choose "Air and Marine Operations" and "Air Interdiction Agent" as your position of interest to receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment and Location: Upon successful completion of a three-part assessment, you will receive a final offer letter. Duty locations are determined by operational and mission requirements. You must be willing to work at any location within the selected region, which includes the Southeast Region (Homestead, FL; Aguadilla, PR), Southwest Region (AZ, CA, TX), and NASOC UAS locations (AZ, TX).
We are an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. The agency is committed to diversity and the inclusion of veterans, with specific provisions for veterans' preference eligibility under 5 U.S.C. 3312.
