Our mission is defined by camaraderie, pride, and a shared purpose to detect, prevent, and interdict terrorists, weapons, and contraband from illegally entering or attacking the United States. We offer skilled pilots an opportunity to join a law enforcement culture where their aviation expertise directly supports national security.
As an Air Interdiction Agent (AIA), you will serve as a critical asset in aviation-based law enforcement operations. This role is designed for experienced pilots who want to transition into a rewarding federal career with exceptional stability and purpose. You will partner with ground assets to conduct air patrols, surveillance, and pursuit activities targeting smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels. Your day-to-day involves monitoring suspect behavior patterns, collecting and analyzing strategic intelligence, and supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts. Whether flying manned aircraft or operating Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), you will be at the forefront of securing the nation's borders.
AMO utilizes a streamlined application process for qualified candidates. There are three primary ways to apply:
Stay Updated: We highly recommend opting into CBP's talent repository. Select the Contact a Recruiter button, choose Air and Marine Operations and Air Interdiction Agent as your position of interest, and complete the pre-screening questions. This ensures you receive monthly updates on webinars, career expos, and future opportunities.
Assessment & Location: Upon successful completion of a three-part assessment, you will receive a final offer letter. Duty locations are assigned based on operational and mission requirements. You must be willing to work at any location within the selected region, including the Southeast (Homestead, FL; Aguadilla, PR), Southwest (Tucson, AZ; San Diego, CA; El Paso, TX; etc.), or NASOC UAS locations (Sierra Vista, AZ; San Angelo, TX).
AMO is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. As a federal law enforcement position within the Department of Homeland Security, this role adheres to specific age and citizenship requirements to ensure the safety and integrity of the mission.
