We are seeking a thoughtful and imaginative Poetry & Creative Writing Instructor for our afterschool program at PS166. This position is perfect for someone who believes in the power of words and wants to help K–5 students express themselves through poetry, journaling, and creative storytelling.
At PS 166 The Richard Rodgers School of The Arts and Technology, we are dedicated to empowering the next generation. As an instructor, you will join a passionate team committed to fostering a supportive and dynamic environment where young writers can grow personally and professionally. Your role is to inspire budding writers by creating a space where they can explore rhyme, rhythm, and voice while building confidence.
The program runs on Thursday and Friday from 2:40 PM to 5:40 PM, broken into two sessions. The season begins September 4th, and we are looking for candidates who can commit for the full 2025-26 school year. You will collaborate with administration and complete digital reporting tasks while leading fun, accessible activities tailored for young learners.
