About the Role
The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a pivotal role in our fast-paced, high-volume environment. This position goes beyond standard data entry, requiring strong analytical thinking to navigate customized project billing processes. You will serve as a bridge between our sales teams, account management, and clients, ensuring accurate invoicing, billing, and revenue recognition for large, complex projects.
In this role, you will manage client relationships by resolving billing inquiries, handling disputes, and supporting client portals. The day-to-day involves reviewing contracts and project details to ensure integrity in Accounts Receivable aging, performing credit checks, and analyzing sales tax estimates. You will work closely with the Accounting Operations Manager to implement billing procedures and support month-end and year-end closes. Success in this position requires the ability to reprioritize quickly, maintain high attention to detail, and communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleGenerate invoices for customers in accordance with contract terms for large, customized projects
- check_circleReview contracts, project details, and purchase orders to ensure accurate invoicing and revenue recognition
- check_circleImplement billing processes and procedures with the Accounting Operations Manager
- check_circleEnsure integrity of Accounts Receivable aging and perform new customer credit checks
- check_circlePrepare sales tax estimates and analyze project details to determine applicable tax treatment
- check_circleAssist with payment applications, credit card processing, and open project or invoice follow-up
- check_circleSupport internal and external customer service needs while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
- check_circleAssist with month and year-end closes and prepare ad hoc client and audit reports
- check_circleManage client communication including billing inquiries, dispute resolution, and payment status updates
- check_circleAudit storage manifests to ensure accurate billing and facilitate multiple facility communications
Requirements
- verifiedAssociate's degree or equivalent experience
- verified2-3 years' experience in Billing or Accounting Clerk role
- verifiedStrong Excel skills required
- verifiedWorking knowledge of SAP preferred
- verifiedKnowledge of general accounting principles preferred
