City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms, and the whole school environment. About the Role
As a Student Success Coach and Mentor, you will serve as a City Year AmeriCorps Member, focusing on coaching and mentoring elementary, middle, and/or high school students. Your service is designed to help students earn academic success, improve their attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school.
You will plan and monitor individual student progress while working closely with teachers on whole-class instruction, breakout spaces, and other in-class student assistance. This role is not just about executing tasks; it is about building yourself, giving back, and being ready to change the world. We provide 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you, and you will work with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way.
