City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide comprehensive support to students, classrooms, and the entire school community. Our mission is to ensure that students receive a high-quality education that equips them with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
As a Student Success Coach and Mentor, you will serve as a vital partner in the educational journey of elementary, middle, and high school students. This full-time, paid position focuses on coaching and mentoring to help students achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. You will work closely with teachers to support whole-class instruction and provide targeted assistance in breakout spaces.
While prior experience in these specific tasks is not required, you will be supported by 2-4 weeks of comprehensive training at the beginning of the year. Throughout your service, you will collaborate with partner teachers and school staff to monitor individual student progress, create engaging classroom environments, and lead initiatives that increase engagement with students and families.
