About City Year
City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms, and the whole school, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education that prepares them with the skills and mindset to thrive and contribute to their community.
About the Role
As a City Year AmeriCorps Member, you will serve as a student success coach and mentor for elementary, middle, and/or high school students. Your mission is to help students earn academic success, improve their attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school. You will plan and monitor individual student progress while working closely with teachers on whole-class instruction, breakout spaces, and in-class student assistance.
This is an entry-level, paid, full-time position designed for those ready to build themselves, give back, and change the world. No prior experience in all these tasks is necessary; we provide 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you. You will work with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way to create an engaging, safe, and healthy classroom environment.
