This Project Engineer position is based at Grand Forks Air Force Base in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The role serves as a critical liaison between the government, contractors, and internal teams to oversee the full lifecycle of federal construction projects. From initial planning and execution to final closeout, the incumbent ensures that all milestones are met while maintaining strict adherence to legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
The day-to-day involves managing complex project plans, schedules, and budgets while serving as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. You will coordinate closely with architects, engineers, and contractors, reviewing technical submittals, shop drawings, and progress schedules. A significant portion of the role focuses on quality control, conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure work meets specifications. You will also prepare detailed correspondence regarding contractor performance, Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), while providing guidance and mentoring to team members.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens and are required to pass a federal background review and drug screen. The selection process includes a discussion with the hiring manager regarding salary expectations based on experience.
