We are seeking a qualified MRI Tech to join our Radiology team at Texas Health Southwest. In this PRN role with variable shifts, you will be a vital part of our imaging services, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
Your day will involve explaining procedures to patients and their families, positioning patients for exams, and performing complex imaging procedures that account for age-related and developmental factors. You will work closely with radiologists on complex and invasive procedures using aseptic techniques. Beyond technical imaging, you will assess patients' emotional, physical, and cognitive conditions, prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies, and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols like time-outs and patient identification checks.
You will also be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MRI equipment, applying your knowledge of physics to adjust technical factors as needed. Maintaining sanitary standards for equipment and rooms between patients is a key part of your daily routine. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and attend continuing education to stay current with technology advancements.
