Job Details Job Location : Prevention Park - Houston, TX Position Type : Full Time Salary Range : $18.00 - $18.00 Hourly Summary: Provide administrative support to Clinical Research Department as assigned by Research Director. Essential Functions: Assist with research projects as assigned by the Research Director. Complete and submit regulatory documents to IRBs and Sponsors as required by protocol, PPGC Research SOPs and ICH, GCP and US Code of Federal Regulations. Recruit, interview, prescreen, screen, and consent study participants (when applicable) in English or Spanish per protocol and ICH/GCP guidelines and PPGC Research SOPs. Maintain inventory and stock of exam room and lab supplies. Record, transcribe and maintain accurate data for multiple studies within deadlines in hard copy or electronic format. Record and accurately reconcile subject compensation funds. Perform quality assurance checks on completed documents to ensure accuracy and completeness. Perform laboratory functions including aliquoting, processing, logging and shipping subject biologic samples as applicable and/or required per study protocol and PPGC Research SOPs. Schedule Research Subject appointments within designated protocol timeframes. Maintain source documents, medical records, case report forms, regulatory files and other research documents according to study protocol, PPGC Research SOPs and all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Ensure complete confidentiality of clients and client services including proper and prompt transfers, purging and storage of records. Ensure completed confidentiality of employee and employee health records including proper and prompt communications, storage and purging of records. Be capable and willing to travel approximately 10-20% of the time, including some overnight travel. Communicate and/or present study information to health center staff for the purposes of providing continuity of client care, and facilitating referrals from the clinic. Track and document staff and HC enrollment on established reports. Clean, autoclave and maintain appropriate supply of sterile instruments in the Research Exam rooms. Education and/or Experience: High school equivalency or GED. 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in a health care setting. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret research protocols, guidelines, lab manuals, study manuals, subject diaries, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write basic enrollment reports, business correspondence, and simple spreadsheets. Ability to effectively present information (in writing and orally) and respond to questions from managers, clients, sponsors, auditors, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to calculate in metric and English measurements. Ability to balance and reconcile cash used for subject stipend. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with emphasis on data entry experience using MS Word and MS Excel required. Electronic medical record experience preferred but not required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Medical Assistant Certification preferred but not required. Other Skills and Abilities: Bi-lingual English/Spanish speaking candidates preferred.
