POSITION OVERVIEW As the Membership Manager at Poodle Room, your primary responsibility is to oversee and coordinate the essential meetings, processes, and initiatives aimed at cultivating, sustaining, and expanding our meticulously selected membership base. You will be the ambassador of the club, actively seeking feedback from members and upholding the club's rules and standards. Personally, you will drive and enhance the effectiveness of the membership by actively participating in members' events and benefits. In addition, you will supervise the membership department and staff, providing support to the Executive Director of Membership and collaborating with the management team as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Take a central role, under the guidance of the Head of Membership, in the maintenance and management of a robust and diverse membership committee spanning various creative industries and geographic locations. Track down sales leads, turning prospective members into official members, and contribute to achieving membership acquisition targets. Collect feedback on club developments, service levels, facilities, and member perceptions. Collaborate as needed to resolve issues related to cards, payments, or applicant paperwork. Monitor member resignations, noting reasons and reaching out directly when appropriate. Maintain a visible presence in the club, serving as the 'face' of Poodle Room to members. Introduce yourself to new members, explain your role, and encourage them to reach out if needed. Actively contribute to the development and execution of the members' events program, ensuring well-planned and communicated events. Facilitate members' involvement in hosting or assisting with events and suggest new event formats. Implement a process for club staff to document instances of inappropriate member behavior or undesirable guests regularly. Evaluate these members at renewal time to determine their impact on the club. Participate in local creative and club scenes, events, parties, launches, and social settings to build contacts, network, and raise awareness about the club, its facilities, your role, and how potential new contacts can join. Educate Poodle Room management and staff on generating applications from potential new members and identifying new members. Ensure their suggestions are processed through committee meetings. Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be at least 21 years of age. 2 years’ relative experience with a proven track record of leading a professional, efficient, high-quality, service-oriented operation. 2 years management experience. Sales driven. Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, as well as the ability to travel and attend various social functions. Daily use of the Microsoft Office Suite and other systems. Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals. Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to set priorities, plan, organize, delegate, and control. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
