Manage the Certified Municipal Official credential program. Support meeting planning and logistics for in-person educational programs for Texas city officials and city staff. Assist the communications and training department in its service to Texas Municipal League (TML) member cities. This position is currently a hybrid position offering the opportunity to work remotely up to three days a week depending on scheduled TML training events. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Manage the Certified Municipal Official program including approval of credit hours, tracking, reporting, participant communication, and awards Handle meeting planning and logistics for in-person TML training events including the event website, speakers, food and beverage, audiovisual, and evaluation Responsible for onsite coordination of assigned events – meeting planning, registration, greeting and interacting with speakers/attendees, managing the event timeline, and ensuring a memorable experience for all participants Recruit and support moderators for the TML Annual Conference and Exhibition including speaker packets and onsite assistance Respond to training-related email and phone inquiries from member city officials Handle general office duties as needed, including purchase orders. Support the assistant director, department, and TML staff with other duties as required Requires regular and reliable attendance on the job, onsite management of assigned events, ability to work flexible hours, and periodic out-of-town and overnight travel Required Job Qualifications/Knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills Minimum of two years’ experience in meeting planning, including hotel contracts, room block, food and beverage, room set, audiovisual, onsite management Experience supporting a credentialing or accreditation program a plus Skilled in use of technology, including computers, audiovisual equipment, apps, websites, and basic video/audio software tools Proficient in Microsoft 365 apps (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Ability to grasp the issues of concern to Texas city officials and cities Job Qualifications/Ability Adept at working both collaboratively and independently Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Effective negotiating and problem-solving skills Customer service driven with ability to respond to problems and assist staff, members, and suppliers with a calm, courteous, and helpful manner and attitude Job Qualifications - Education/Experience Requires a four-year college level of language, math, and reasoning skills.
