Title:Travel Sterile processing tech Overview The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in healthcare settings by ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained. The technician will work closely with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment following established protocols. Inspect instruments for functionality and cleanliness, ensuring they meet quality standards before use. Maintain accurate inventory records of sterile supplies and equipment, managing stock levels effectively. Operate sterilization equipment and monitor cycles to ensure proper functioning. Adhere to aseptic techniques during processing and handling of sterile items. Collaborate with surgical staff to understand instrument needs for various procedures. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in sterile processing. Skills Proficient in aseptic technique to prevent contamination during processing. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to surgical instruments and procedures. Understanding of anatomy and physiology as it relates to surgical practices. Experience or training in sterile processing methods and protocols. Strong inventory management skills to track supplies efficiently.
