Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work closely with other geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists to learn core skills and apply engineering strategies. Plan and execute subsurface explorations, instrumentation, and laboratory testing of soils and rock. Participate in geotechnical engineering analyses and design, including slope stability, seismic evaluations, and foundation design. Assist in preparing strategic proposals and reports. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including clients, architects, and contractors. Conduct construction inspections to verify compliance with recommendations. Participate in team building events and education opportunities. Education and Licensure A degree in civil or geological engineering from an ABET accredited college or university with geotechnical engineering coursework (required). Master of Science (M.S.) or Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree with an emphasis on geotechnical engineering (preferred). Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain EIT Certification within 6 months (preferred). Skills, Experience and Qualifications At least 2 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience (required). Professional engineering experience with increasing levels of responsibility. Field exploration and instrumentation experience. Training in foundation engineering, slope stability, and seismic evaluation analyses. Experience with geotechnical analysis software. Ability to draw in AutoCAD. Field experience for overseeing geotechnical components of construction projects. Ability to work on teams and interface with clients. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to travel long distances and accommodate occasional overnight travel. Clear and professional communication skills. Valid U.S. Driver's license and satisfactory driving record (required).
