A laboratory in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division (VIDD) at Fred Hutch is recruiting a Research Technician III to participate in projects focused on tissue-resident T cells, regulatory T cells and B cell responses. The technician will be responsible for conducting standard and investigative laboratory work in support of scientific research by performing bench-level experiments, operating analytical instruments, recovering, compiling and verifying the accuracy of research data; performing calculations; preparing charts, graphs and summaries. The technician will report to the Principal Investigator and interact with a diverse team of graduate students, post-graduate researchers, and other scientists. Responsibilities Participate in molecular biology efforts to express or knock down target genes in cell lines for various assays. Maintain the mouse colony. Carry out cellular immunology experiments across a spectrum of different models and experimental systems. Contribute to the daily operation of the laboratory. May lead or supervise other laboratory personnel. Collaborate with Principal Investigator and assist in designing experiments; examine proposals to determine projects and methodologies best suited to research objectives and the overall goals of the laboratory. Conduct literature reviews and consult with the Principal Investigator and others in the scientific community to determine most suitable research methods. Summarize, write and edit for publication or presentation the results of research projects, often as co-author or author. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in related scientific field or equivalent combination of education and experience 5 years of experience working in a lab outside of school coursework (or equivalent combination of advanced degree and work experience) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in a related scientific field A statement describing your commitment and contributions toward greater diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism in your career or that will be made through your work at Fred Hutch is requested of all finalists. The annual base salary range for this position is from $68,162 to $102,211, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
