Overview: MHealth Fairview Health Services is looking for a Psychiatric Assistant to join our outstanding Behavioral Float Pool All Psych Associates and RNs report to a nurse manager. The float pool consists of approximately 30 RNs and 60 Psych Associates; and serves a wide spectrum of patients within the Behavioral Health department including child/adolescents, adults, and seniors. We are conveniently located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis The starting base rate of pay for the position is $24.27.Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay. The shift differential for the night shift is $3.00 This role is approved for 64 hours, every two weeks on the night shift, working 8 -hour shifts and every other weekend with a variable schedule. Maintains safety of patient and staff by conducting the following as assigned: Conducts safety checks of patients through visual observation and documentation. Conducts room, belonging and unit searches. Responds and participates in de-escalation of patient including physical intervention as trained. Actively participates in milieu management with treatment team collaboration. Performs basic patient daily living routines and procedures according to treatment plan: Demonstrates knowledge of signs/symptoms of diagnoses and interventions. Conducts educational programming with individual and/or patient groups according to appropriate treatment plan. Responds to emergency situations as trained per policy. Participates in the treatment team’s mission, goals and plans: Acts as a member of the multi-disciplinary therapeutic team. Exhibits verbal communication in a timely, detailed, and professional manner. Possesses knowledge of current issues, changes and updates in Behavioral Services policies and procedures. Qualifications: Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Basic Life Support Certification Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Human Services Field Experience working in the mental health field
