Job Description The Principal will serve as a top-level manager in a successful, growing office. He or she will interact regularly with senior representatives of current and prospective clients. The Principal will oversee all client relations, including project team performance and overall client satisfaction. The Principal will have extremely strong interpersonal skills with an aggressive, yet personable, demeanor. It is essential that the candidate be very articulate with exceptional presentation skills. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who considers him or herself to be an entrepreneurial overachiever. This leader will play a vital role in all facets of directing an operation. Responsibilities Operational : The Principal will ultimately be responsible for the delivery of services, the development of culture and the execution of processes within the offices. You will oversee client relations, including project team performance and overall client satisfaction. • The Principal will train the staff in terms of the company's client service and responsiveness standards. The operation will outperform competing firms and will set the gold-standard for performance and responsiveness within the market. • The Principal will ensure that all projects are subjected to a thorough QA/QC review process. Marketing/Business Development : The ability to establish and develop relationships with potential clients is essential. You will work closely with the firm’s Marketing&BD departments to develop new opportunities and build relationships. • The Principal will play a key role in the regional business development plan. • The Principal will seek to gain intimate knowledge of a client’s needs, interests and “hot-topics.” The Principal will organize RFQ responses and project interview presentations to articulate a customized message that will best position the company for a successful bid. • The Principal will pursue speaking opportunities at conferences to enhance company's image as the leader in the industry. Management/Leadership : The Principal will promote a support structure to further develop the abilities of the staff. The Principal will also be responsible for overseeing the recruitment of new staff to supplement an already very talented team. • The Principal will work with the HR department to establish a plan of action to attract top-level talent. • The Principal will ensure that the staff participates in on-going project management and project delivery training programs that are available. • The Principal will build an office that promotes team communication, delegation, accountability and efficiency. • The Principal will have the responsibility of managing the financial performance of the office with respect to staffing, projections and profitability. Strategic : The Principal will be a key contributor to further defining and guiding the strategic plan throughout Austin. • The Principal will have in-depth knowledge of the Austin market, client growth rates, building plans and opportunities to expand our business. • The Principal will participate in strategic sessions to establish a plan for expansion across Austin. Job Requirements •Must have prior K-12 and/or Higher Education experience in the Austin area to be considered. • Must be a Registered Architect in the State of Texas. • Must have a minimum of 20 years of experience in the architectural profession with no less than 5 years of experience managing project teams and processes.
