Position Summary Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor in the Physician Assistant department, which is part of the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies. This position is to start the Fall 2025 semester and is tenure track. Rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Assistant/Associate professors in the Physician Assistant program typically teach 21 credits per academic year [12 months]. Additional responsibilities include advising students, departmental and university service, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at national and international conferences, assistance with ARC-PA assessment data collection and analysis, conducting interviews, and participation in department and university events and activities. This is an in-person, on campus, non-remote position. Minimum Requirements Doctoral degree in a health-related area awarded by an institution that is accredited by a United States Department of Education (USDE)-recognized regional accrediting body (or ABD, with defense scheduled prior to start date). Current NCCPA Certification or MD/DO graduate of an accredited medical school with ABMS or AOA specialty board certification. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as an MD/DO or Physician Assistant required. Faculty must have documented expertise in their area(s) of teaching responsibility and knowledge of the content delivery method (e.g., distance learning). Demonstrated ongoing scholarly achievement and research experience/expertise. Preferred Qualifications Currently holds the rank of Assistant professor, or the equivalent. Experience with program assessment and ARC-PA accreditation processes. Job Duties Teaching load to be determined based on rank and position. Serve as an academic advisor to assigned students. Ensure that each program/class contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency. Provide service to School and University committees. Coordinate, plan, organize, and instruct courses as assigned. Assist in recruitment and retention of students, including open house, interviews, accepted student events, and student remediation. Become thoroughly familiar and comply with University policies and procedures. Actively participate in programmatic self-assessment and ongoing accreditation activities. Demonstrate cooperative relationships with colleagues, supervisors, support staff, and students. Participate in department and program review and continued development.
