Job Description
Essential Functions: Conduct physical and psychological assessments of clients and develop or follow a treatment plan. Assess home and work environments of clients and decide what adjustments are needed. Advise on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities. Develop physical rehabilitation programs to help clients regain lost skills. Prepare clients for a return to work. Educate caregivers and family members of clients’ patient care. Evaluate results and progress of occupational therapy clients. Maintain professional knowledge and the technical progress in order to provide clients with the best treatment program available. Comply with federal, state, and local certification requirements. Evaluate patient condition regarding physical and basic mental health. Skills Abilities: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels. Ability to complete competency CPR and First Aid. Ability to perform simple mathematical equations. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to take care of clients with different personalities. Comfortable using a computer for various tasks. Ability to assess patient conditions and work with treatment plans. Working Conditions: Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors. Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions. Physical Demands: Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Requirements: A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from a university certified by the ACOTE (Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education) or AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association). Certified by the National Board for Certification. Compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements. Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs.
