Organization: Vanderbilt Health On Call Job Summary: The Vanderbilt Health On-Call Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) collaborates with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide care in primary, urgent, community-based, and long-term healthcare settings across the lifespan. The NP/PA has the education, clinical competency, and certification to deliver preventative healthcare, assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic illnesses while promoting patient-centered care. Position Hours: Hours of Operation: 6:00am - 9:00pm Sunday through Saturday Rotating Weekend and Holiday Requirement Department Summary: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide episodic, same-day care via telehealth or traveling directly to patients’ homes or offices. Telehealth: Patients 18 or older in Tennessee In-Person/Home: Patients 18 or older in Davidson County, Brentwood, Franklin, Nolensville, and Hendersonville Common Conditions/Treatments: Fast-paced urgent care for common complaints and minor illnesses. Point of Care Testing: Strep, Flu, Pregnancy, and Urinalysis. IV fluids and phlebotomy with labs as clinically indicated. Post-discharge appointments (e.g., IV fluids, in-home assessment). Minimum Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner (FNP, ANP, Adult-Gero) or Physician Assistant (PA) Prior APP Experience Required (2 years in walk-in clinic, emergency room, primary care, urgent care clinics, occupational health, or student health) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Obtains and documents health history; performs and documents physical examinations and plans of care. Provides healthcare services for primary, acute, and complex care of patients. Orders and interprets diagnostic tests. Treats acute and chronic conditions. Prescribes necessary therapeutic interventions. Utilizes evidence-based practice protocols in care planning. Facilitates patient transitions between healthcare settings.
