Candidates that would be a good fit for this role are the following: Experienced critical care APPs Experienced hospital medicine APPs with an interest in increasing the acuity of their practice New graduate APPs interested in intermediate care or high-acuity hospital medicine Location: Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, TX Department: HTPN Pulmonary and Critical Care Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days) Essential Functions of the Role Conduct comprehensive physical and mental assessments of patients through detailed examinations and medical histories. Order, collect, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests to evaluate patient health and identify care needs. Prescribe medications, therapies, and procedures in line with established protocols, while focusing on safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement patient-specific, evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. Evaluate patient responses to treatment and adjust plans accordingly to optimize outcomes. Provide counseling and education to patients and families about health conditions, treatment options, medications, nutrition, and overall health management. Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting treatment plans and outcomes. Initiate consultations or referrals when necessary. Perform invasive procedures specific to the APP’s scope of practice and competency, as delegated by supervising physicians. Participate in hospital rounds, assist with admissions and discharges, and provide on-call support when needed. Qualifications Education : Graduate of an accredited program with certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC).
