Overview: The Manager Capacity is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the allocation of nursing resources. This role involves managing nurse staffing levels, ensuring efficient utilization of resources, and maintaining high-quality patient care. The position collaborates with nurse managers and schedulers to forecast patient demand, adjust staffing levels, and address any gaps or surpluses in staffing. The role monitors performance metrics, implement strategies for improvement, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Capacity Manager plays a critical role in maintaining a well-staffed and efficient healthcare environment, ultimately contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care. Responsibilities: Works with Patient Placement and Administrative Coordinator (AC) on system processes to maximize the efficiency of patient care. Analyzes patient census data, inpatient bed needs, and available resources to maintain safe patient care. Ensures regulatory standards are met and understood by personnel. Assesses patient flow issues throughout the hospital to determine their impact on patient safety. Analyzes metrics to drive value to assure cost effective allocation of resources. Leads daily campus bed huddles to triage and assess patient throughput, capacity changes and proactive bed planning. Assists with campus initiatives to optimize patient throughput. Supports nursing and cross-departmental leadership in designing efficient/effective and safe systems and processes to assure smooth patient throughput. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing EXPERIENCE: Required: 7 years of experience LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Required: RN licensure to practice in the state of NC
