Job/salary offer would be commensurate with job level and experience. Schedule: Monday-Friday GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY Develops and maintains banking relationships and makes a variety of smaller or less complex loans based on limited lending authority by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This is based upon Loan Officer I job level. If you are considered for a Loan Officer II or III due to your experience, the applicable job description will be provided. Accepts and processes loan applications; analyzes existing and potential customers' banking needs, earnings, and financial conditions to determine which bank products are most appropriate, and to assess acceptable risk; approves/denies or recommends approval/denial within limited lending authority. Provides advice and service to existing customers and generates new business by calling on prospective customers regarding the establishment of new banking relationships. Manages existing loan portfolio, including the monitoring and collection of loan payments; modifies or extends loan terms or structure to protect bank's interest when required. Minimizes bank losses and exposure to losses. Follows existing lending procedures and ensures lending compliance of loan portfolio with bank and regulatory procedures, policies, and requirements, and takes corrective action when non-compliance is identified. Represents the bank in the community in order to identify, develop and promote additional business. Keeps informed about the banking industry and all bank products. Maintains awareness of competitors' products and the bank's advantage. May be assigned supervisory duties at local or out-of-town location as the need arises. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES May supervise employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making recommendations regarding the hiring and terminating of employees. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: LOI Minimum: Bachelor's degree in a business field and one year lending related or banking experience, or five years lending-related or banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Preferred: Commercial and/or consumer lending, sales, or marketing experience. LOII Minimum: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, marketing, or related field and five years commercial, real estate, or consumer lending related experience; or seven years commercial, real estate, and/or consumer lending related experience; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Preferred: One year of supervisory experience and marketing or sales experience. LOIII Minimum: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, marketing, or related field and six years commercial, real estate, or consumer lending experience; or eight years commercial, real estate, and/or consumer lending experience; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Familiarity with State and Federal Loan programs. Preferred: One year of supervisory experience and marketing or sales experience. SKILLS and ABILITIES: Word processing and spreadsheet software experience required. The ability to handle highly confidential information, frequent deadlines, and time constraints required. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management and the public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING SKILLS: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make decisions based on those conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract variables.
