Government and Public Sector - Project Finance Assistant Director Job summary: From strategy to execution, the Government&Public Sector (GPS) practice of Ernst&Young LLP provides a full range of consulting and audit services to help our Federal, State, Local and Education clients implement new ideas to help achieve their mission outcomes. EY is ready to help our government build a better working world. This GPS Finance Assistant Director role will manage all aspects of project control for a sub-sector within the GPS practice. Key Responsibilities Work with GPS Markets/Project Finance leader to establish a world-class project finance organization in support of EY’s growing GPS practice. Develop strong working relationship with sub-sector leader, serving as a strategic and trusted business advisor. Assess level of staff needs and ensure workloads are balanced, enabling all team members to experience well-being while also meeting business needs. Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, development and day to day management of Markets Finance staff. Support implementation of policies and procedures to ensure client engagements comply with US government regulatory (FAR, DFARS, CAS) requirements and EY internal requirements. Participate substantially in development of tools, processes, and procedures to monitor and manage engagement financials. Prepare annual budgets at an engagement level as well as monthly, annual and multi-year business forecasts. Support external project audits with outside independent auditors and regulatory agencies. Work with GPS Reporting lead to clarify reporting requirements in support of engagement, account and sub-sector financial management. Play a coordinating role between engagement teams, PMOs, accounting, contracts, subcontracts and project setup. Analyze and advise on the impact of pricing decisions as it relates to sub-sector and account financials. Ensure seamless support to GPS for borrowed and loaned practitioners. Support future migration of SLED project financials from SAP to Costpoint. Support other ad hoc financial reporting and projects as assigned. Skills and attributes for success High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills. Intellectually curious with problem solving orientation. Proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners and executives. Experience aligning cross-functional stakeholders. Player/coach with ability to both lead and execute. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Extensive knowledge of FAR/CAS and other government contract accounting requirements. A minimum of 8 years of relevant government contractor finance experience in a CAS compliant environment. A minimum of 4 years of experience in a project control role. A minimum of 4 years supervisory experience. Experience supporting successful government audit(s) of accounting and finance policies and procedures. Solid knowledge of Deltek Costpoint. Ability to obtain a security clearance, if necessary.
