Job Title: Global Sr Process Controls Engineer Location: Ohio, Houston, TX Travel: up to 40% (average of 25%), domestic and international Key Responsibilities Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong technical skills on chemical plant controls DCS, PLCs and well as field instrumentation and control valves. Ability to function as the project technical lead on major control projects globally for DCS upgrades, plant expansions, and on site start up support. Ability to function in diverse cultural environments and flexible in schedule for interactions with other team members in different time zones when needed. Strong Process Safety focus with knowledge of SIL ratings, PHAs, Safety Systems. Impact: Develops technological Ideas and guides their development into a final product. Leads the planning and implementation of the controls portions of large projects such as new chemical plants and DCS upgrades. Identifies changes and improvements in industry requirements, products and processes including advanced control solutions and process optimization. Determines how to apply new technologies and improved operating processes. Interaction with Others: Frequent contacts with internal personnel often in different regions as well as external contractors and outside representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of engineering projects or contracts. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal management and external representatives concerning specific operations. Leads activities such as process control architecture, factory acceptance testing, and field testing. Provides the organization with financial (resulting value stream profitability) as well as technical information on projects and assists the organization in making the appropriate prioritization/portfolio decisions. Required Skills: 15 years of experience in related field. DCS Programming and System Design Experience. Field instrumentation experience (automated valves, transmitters, etc.). ISA&NEC Design Concepts. Ladder, Function Block and Structured Text Programming concepts. Process Safety Management (PSM) experience. Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) experience. Advanced Process Control experience. DCS, PLC and Safety Systems - preferred systems listed. Honeywell TDC3000 DCS. Education, Certifications&Licenses: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
