CBS Mornings is seeking experienced freelance newswriters with strong communication skills to be part of the editorial team. RESPONSIBILITIES: Write compelling, succinct, and clear news scripts under tight deadlines for network news. Demonstrate sound news judgment and writing according to CBS News policies, editorial standards, and style. Research and evaluate news stories and verify the accuracy of material and information from sources. QUALIFICATIONS: At least four years of television news writing experience. Experience in ENPS or equivalent news computer system. Ability to write sharp, active, and straightforward news reports, intros/tags, and teases from raw materials including wire copy, video, and reporter notes. Familiarity with news feed services such as CBS Newspath. Ability to respond rapidly and effectively to tight deadlines and breaking news. This position involves working early mornings and/or overnight hours. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Hiring Salary Range: $48.01 - $48.01. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
