Mosquito control spraying is scheduled for Sunday July 14, 2024 – Saturday July 20, 2024. Treatment applications will occur between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Okeechobee residents are encouraged to report high concentrations of mosquitos to the Clarke Mosquito Hotline at 1-800-203-6485. Links to the Constitutional Officers sites are listed below: www.dhs.gov/E-Verify - E-Verify is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Event Operations Technician - On-call - Agri-Civic Center Performs the mechanical building and grounds maintenance of the Okeechobee County Agri-Civic Center/Fairgrounds, requiring both skilled and semi-skilled day to day related tasks. Event related, called in as needed. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Agri-Civic Center Manager. Responsibilities: Event set-up, including but not limited to: staging, seating, lighting, sound, floor prep, etc. Preparation of arena competition footing, horse barn, RV site and ancillary areas for varied equestrian sports, livestock shows, concerts, promotions, rentals and community events. Performs routine electrical/plumbing repairs, light carpentry, seating system maintenance, custodial services, event cleaning and related houseman duties. Preventative maintenance on arena panels, gates, chutes and barn stalls. Equipment operator, i.e. front end loaders, fork lifts, tractors, box blades, Kiser drag system and lifts. Performs minor servicing on vehicles and small engine repair. Work schedule will adjust to accommodate evening, weekends, holiday event bookings and point of distribution disaster services. Duties include early morning openings, late night closing of venue facilities used by clients. Turns on/off venue lights and power in electrical vault or parking lot. Turns on/off water as needed for client use. Supervises custodian and/or clean-up crews; install/dismantle labor for pre and post event service needs. Assists in event operating areas as needed.
